Installing fink , cccp4 , cns and coot on OSX

Story Board

1. First navigate to http://xanana.ucsc.edu/xtal/
2. Read the Installing Fink instructions - according to which I have already installed X11 , Xcode
3. Since I have  OSX 10.5.2 Leopard - I will need to start a Bootstrap compilation  of  fink
4. Go to http://xanana.ucsc.edu/~wgscott/xtal...Manual_Install - Read these instructions
   
5. Download the latest fink tarball from sourceforge.
   
6. Put this into its own directory and run bootstrap.sh - This will take some time . When the install script asks you whether you want to enable binary distributions , Please say yes.
   
7. Configure fink to use unstable by editing /sw/etc/fink.conf to add unstable/main and unstable/crypto to the Trees line ( please see the manual fink install instructions)
8. Add fink to your path and setup other variables by running /sw/bin/pathsetup.sh
9. Now update fink by running fink selfupdate and fink update-all
10. Now run fink index ; fink scanpackages ; sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade as mentionned here
    
11. Now please read W.G Scotts Getting fink to use packages he has precompiled.
12. Edit the /sw/etc/apt/sources.list as per the instructions for using W.G. Scotts binaries for Intel Macs running leopard 10.5 . So accordingly add the sources for 10.5 intelto the /sw/etc/apt/sources.list. Other platforms please see the relevant section of this page.
13. No educate fink about what packages reside in those places by running "fink scanpackages"  AND "sudo apt-get update"
14. Now Install ccp4 sudo apt-get install ccp4
15. cns : sudo apt-get install cns-binary
16. coot : sudo apt-get install coot
17. Finish by running sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
