Installing Accelerys Discovery Studio Visualizer ( community-free edition) on Ubuntu Linux 10.04

The amazing and awesome Discovery studio visualizer is available for linux . Although the official documentation recommends Redhat linux. It is a breeze to have it installed and running on Ubuntu Linux.

Download the community ( free) edition from the Accelrys website

Start the installer in the console mode :

./DSV25Setup.bin -console -is:log log.txt
 

Then follow along with the installation . The GUI based installanywhere app does not work for some reason

If you have previously tried to install using the GUI based INstallAnywhere program and failed, remove the following directory

~/.InstallShield/Accelrys/Linux/DSVisualizer
